Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me - Chelsea's Family, Friends andother Victims

"My tendency to make up stories and lie compulsively for the sake of my own amusement takes up a good portion of my day and provides me with a peace of mind not easily attainable in this economic climate."--Chelsea Handler, from Chapter 10 of Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang

It's no lie: Chelsea Handler loves to smoke out "dumbassness," the condition people suffer from that allows them to fall prey to her brand of complete and utter nonsense. Friends, family, co-workers--they've all been tricked by Chelsea into believing stories of total foolishness and into behaving like total fools. Luckily, they've lived to tell the tales and, for the very first time, write about them."

Let me start out by saying that there is a lot of mature content in many of these pages. This is NOT a young adult book and probably shouldn't be read by a person who finds immature people and pranks, well, immature. The majority of this book is about pranks and or lies gone awry and the random things that Chelsea Handler does when she is bored.
I picked up this book because I watch Chelsea Lately--Chelsea Handler's late night show on E! Entertainment. On Chelsea Lately, Chelsea and friends are always talking about the random dumb things that they do together. Being a very curious individual, I had to know more about Chelsea, and if theses things that Chelsea and friends were always talking about were, indeed, true. Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me was an entertaining book, and although some of the entries were poorly written, the stories were priceless and definitely gave me an insight into what Chelsea Handler and friends enjoy doing when they are bored. This compilation of stories was very lighthearted in an oh-crap-this-is-serious kind of way. I now know that if I am ever in the presence of Chelsea Handler, I should never leave my computer unlocked, or leave my phone unattended because bad things tend to happen when Chelsea is around various forms of communication.
Overall, this book was a 3.5/5, because while the stories were entertaining, some of them didn't flow well together but the book was entertaining enough for a 3 day read.
